“Heard it too from 8th and P…sounded like a car sped away down towards Q after”

We live in Shaw and had a rug delivered to our house. We were home and went to get the door to bring it in. Within 2 minutes it was stolen. We reported the theft but weren’t expecting it to be recovered. Within 30 minutes an MPD officer arrived at our house and recovered the stolen rug. Thank you to Officer Morgan for all of his help!”

I served on a jury for 6 weeks in 2020 and just got a summons to report again for duty. I understand in DC it’s every 2 years, but shouldn’t it be longer for people who actually sat through a trial?“

“The First District is investigating an attempted armed carjacking that occurred this evening (Wed.) at approximately 6:50pm in the 900 block of 4th St SE. The victim reported that while retrieving a dog from inside their vehicle, a suspect approached from behind and spun them around. The suspect showed a firearm and demanded the keys. (more…)

“Investigators with the Metropolitan Police Department’s Major Crash Investigations Unit are investigating a traffic crash that occurred on Monday, February 7, 2022, in the intersection of 9th Street and New York Avenue, Northwest.
According to the preliminary investigation, at approximately 8:35 pm, the victim’s vehicle was traveling southbound on 9th Street, Northwest. The person of interest was travelling eastbound on New York Avenue, Northwest, when it ran through a red traffic light and collided with the victim’s vehicle. The person of interest then exited their vehicle and fled the scene on foot. The victim was transported to an area hospital for life-threatening injuries.

“Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Sexual Assault Unit announce an arrest has been made in reference to Misdemeanor Sexual Abuse and Destruction of Property offenses that occurred in the District.
In each Misdemeanor Sexual Abuse offense, the suspect approached a female victim and made unwanted sexual contact. The suspect then fled the scene. Below is a list of the offenses.
At approximately 5:32 pm, on Thursday, February 3, 2022, in the 1700 block of Q Street, Northwest. CCN: 22-016-217
