From an email:

“As we sat around the restaurant yesterday trying to figure out the best way to move forward it dawned on us that not only are our local vendors and suppliers suffering, but there could be a match made between customers wanting to stay away from large grocery store environments, and the products they desire/need. In this moment Walters Country Store Account (WaltersCSA) came to life.

Bridging the gap between local suppliers and our customers Walters CSA will offer pre packaged bundles available to purchase online and picked up in store. Please note all Beer/Liquor/Wine must accompany a food purchase.

Our goal is to help keep the supply chain moving as best we can. For our customers who have the means to keep purchasing to our suppliers who have the means to keep producing WaltersCSA can be a safe link in between.

Head over to Waltersdc.com/Walters-csa to sign up for our newsletter. We will send out our first email today by 2pm with our options. Orders will need to be placed by 7pm for pickup the next day between 4-10pm. We’re also happy to look at special requests.

Stay Clean”

Ed. Note: Walters (10 N Street, SE) is “also getting growlers in from DC Brau for filling later today.”

If you know of or you are a restaurant/bar that does this please add your establishment and contact info in the comments – thanks!

From ABRA:

“This evening, Mayor Muriel Bowser signed into law the COVID-19 Response Emergency Amendment Act of 2020.

Included is a provision that allows ABC-licensed restaurants and taverns to sell beer, wine, and spirits in closed containers for carry-out and/or delivery to DC residences in conjunction with the purchase of one or more prepared food items.”

Thanks to Aaron for sending: “Happy St Patrick’s Day from Elsa, Adams-Morgan”

Tonight I shall let the gin rest and pour a cup of Powers and toast to the sick to heal quickly, to the medical staff for being on the front lines, to the emergency responders keeping us safe, to the sanitation workers who always work through it all, to the grocery store and other retail workers keeping us stocked despite our fears, to our friends who’ve lost their jobs – letting them know they will not be forgotten and letting the powers that be know that they must be taken care of until we get back to normal, and to our family and loved ones may we all be safe and celebrate properly next year at the pub. Thanks to all who’ve passed on: “Someone created a resource for finding the names and venmo/paypal information for service industry workers in order to toss some cash their way. Its operating as a virtual tip jar and is a great way for folks to help their favorite server/bartender/etc stay afloat while businesses are experiencing mandated reduced business or closures. The list is supposedly being updated daily at noon.”
