From Pound the Hill:

“Friends, we are sad to announce that Pound is closing Sunday evening. We are excited to announce that Bourbon Coffee, Washington D.C. will be opening Monday. We are overwhelmed with emotions, but most of all, want to say a huge THANK YOU to each of you.

And here is our full letter about this weekend.”

Pound the Hill faced some tax issues back in March. And back in 2012 Pound the Hill issued a plea saying they were in danger of closing. Pound the Hill opened up at 621 Pennsylvania Ave, SE in March 2011.

Thanks to a reader for sending word:

“Have you heard anything about the Crumbs & Coffee shop in Adams Morgan on Columbia Rd? It has been closed for the past couple weeks (doors locked, lights off, etc.) and today I saw a sign that said “we are closed -mgmt”. It was unclear, however, if that meant permanently closed or temporarily.

It is a solid little neighborhood spot, with friendly people, and a down-to-earth atmosphere.”

Word on the street is closed for good but I’ll update when/if it becomes official. Coffee glut in Adams Morgan?
