“I found this dockless bike near the corner of 7th and P in Shaw early Sunday morning. Though I didn’t think it was garbage, someone else was clearly unhappy with it.”
Ed. Note: I’m beginning to think maybe we simply just drink too much to have a dockless option.

“Dear PoPville,
I had my bike stolen from outside of my house this on Sunday at 5:35 pm. Please be on the lookout for the cruiser around the Columbia Heights area and beyond. It’s a 2017 LIV Avail Disc SL 1 – gray/silver with neon orange accents. The bike has disc brakes, stock tires and a stock saddle. If you see this bike, please take a photo, call 911 and reference police report 179-075.“

I’m starting to get tons of messages like this one from Trent:
“Locked to the fence with their own bike lock and the wheel lock is all taped up with blue tape. No clue. On S street between 15th and 16th NW.”

“The door was open and I accidentally made eye contact with the guy and said, “well. okay.”

Thanks to David for sending Vol. 17:
“Uh, like I’m the middle of a the grassy area between a bunch of roads behind the Lincoln Memorial. Very lonely. But restful.”

And Jon for Vol. 18:
“I found this gem on the 66 east just past the E street exit.”

Thanks to a couple readers for sending. Valerie writes:
“In case anyone wonders why we have so many bike shares in DC, it’s because VCs keep throwing money at them. From today’s Pro Rata newsletter:
• LimeBike, a San Francisco-based bike-rental startup, has raised $50 million in Series B funding. Coatue Management led the round, and was joined by Andreessen Horowitz, DCM, GGV, Section 32, Yuri Milner and Kevin Durant.”

Thanks to all (approximately 44 folks sent photos, here are but a few) for sending from Church Street between 14th and 15th on Sunday.

Thanks to Jill for sending:
“My husband and I are currently on vacation in Budapest and spotted this dockless bike share: Donkey Republic! Why on earth is the city not testing this one?!? Can’t think of a more perfect city for a Donkey Republic than DC. (Also enjoy the saddle with the a–, er, donkey…) Website shows they’re in many cities.”
