Awesome sign outside a barber shop. “Get It Right” is just an awesome slogan. When do you think this sign first went up – 50s, 60s, or 70s?
I love encountering shops that are in the middle of a residential block. I imagine that this sight was very common in the 1950s. But my question is: why are the shops in rowhomes on residential blocks always hair salons? I mean why not a hardware store every now and then? Have you guys seen any other shops on residential blocks besides hair salons?
I got a haircut today. Just a trim but a haircut nonetheless. At the end of the haircut the lady who cut my hair starting giving me a back massage. Like for 5 minutes. That’s weird right?
Oddly, a number of people have emailed me asking for Spa locations near Petworth/Columbia Heights. As I have been to a spa exactly zero times in my life, the only one I knew about was the Medspa on 14th St. in Columbia Heights. But I passed Ramona’s Day Spa and Salon on 3103 Mt. Pleasant St. recently and was wondering if any one has been? If so do you recommend it? It looks cool from the outside.
