Though you might not recognize his name you will surely recognize his work. Robert Cole’s studio was located in Logan Circle and you could often spot his pieces when walking up 15th Street. An obituary notice says he passed Oct. 15th. You can read about his work here. Rest in Peace.

The Luxury of Dreams
Mixed media glass work by Sean Hennessey

Opening Reception: Friday October 4th 7-10 PM
The Dunes
1402 Meridian Place NW
2nd Floor

A portion of sales will go toward Thrive DC.

Sean Hennessey’s “The Luxury of Dreams” was born out of a personal experience with a neighborhood homeless man who, with help, was able to turn his life around.

From the crisis of homelessness in our city came a desire to create an exhibition based on blankets, beds, and shelter. From that point, Sean wrote: “I then wondered if the level of security of having a place to sleep affected how we dream. I was thinking about how we all enter the world of dreams, regardless of where we sleep. I thought that I would create a series of works based on the dreams of others. Through conversations … about art and social issues, my idea for The Luxury of Dreams series was born. I started soliciting dreams from friends, colleagues, collectors, other artists, and social media connections.” (more…)

From Erik Van Loon:

“Wouldn’t it be great if you share my affection for Washington DC by taking part in I LOVE DC together with 250 car owners. In return you will get a free coffee or tea, a sandwhich and a digital 5 mb photo by email for your help to realise I LOVE DC. It will take you approximately three hours to set up all cars in the desired setting and to make the I Love DC photo from a helicopter.”

If you have a red car or black car (but red cars are especially needed) you can volunteer to have it included in the project here.
