The front room will offer 870sf of holistic retail, with vintage and new design-focused housewares, live plants, fragrance, and sustainable apparel and accessories–with each item being a touch point to our values. Beyond the shop, is the 1400sf gallery space that will engage community participation and encourage discovery. “It is under the 695 highway in Capitol Hill next to Garfield Park. It was Bernie as recently as Sunday afternoon, and as of yesterday was still defaced.”

“Washington National Cathedral will host a new art exhibit showcasing thousands of paper doves suspended from the Cathedral’s vaulted, 100-foot-high ceiling, beginning next week through May 2021. The “Les Colombes” exhibit is by German artist Michael Pendry, who has created similar works at Cathedrals around the world, and symbolizes the Biblical theme of hope and optimism heading into the new year after a very challenging 2020. I’ve been seeing these small, incredible pieces of protest art popping up in Capitol Hill the last few weeks. Signed by “Fearless Girls,” the first one I saw was featuring everyone’s favorite Bunker Baby. That one was on an electrical box in Stanton Park back in October. It’s since been removed. The other one I saw last night at I believe 4th and Constitution, it was about Jefferson and Sally Hemmings. Does anyone have pics of other pieces I might have missed or know anything about the Fearless Girls?” (more…)
