So long story short – I got a flat tire on my bicycle and was headed to the gas station near Politics and Prose and stumbled upon this awesome, awesome little ADU (accessory dwelling unit) which I assume was once a regular garage like the rest of the houses on the block have. Love it.

I believe these are below market rate homes of some sort at 8th and T Sts NW. Overall they present well, blending in nicely with the area but if you look through the windows, the architect put the interior stairs in front of the windows! This defeats the purpose of having windows. There are windows that aren’t blocked on the other side but why on earth would you not use the interior wall to host the stairs?” (more…)
