These buildings are really progressing nicely. Here’s what it looked like in Oct. ’09. According to previous commenters they will be “private residences for Chinese diplomatic staff”. It is located on located on Porter St, NW east of Connecticut toward Rock Creek Park and Mt. Pleasant.
How do you think the buildings have turned out so far?

It’s been fun watching this building go up. Here’s an update from a DCPL press release:
The Watha T. Daniel/Shaw Interim Library, located at 945 Rhode Island Ave., N.W. will close Tuesday, July 13 at 5:30 pm to move to the new library which is scheduled to open on Monday, Aug. 2. The new Watha T. Daniel/Shaw Neighborhood Library will be located at 1630 7th St. N.W., across from the Shaw Metro station.
During the transition, books from the interim and new books will be moved into the new library, catalogued and shelved; new computers, including Macs for teens will be installed and tested, copiers and other equipment will be moved to the new location and furniture and carpeting.
The new three-story library is approximately 22,000 square feet and will feature separate reading areas for adults, teens and children; a children’s program room; space for 80,000 books, DVDs, CDs and other library materials; 32 public access computers with free Wi-Fi Internet access; comfortable seating for 200 customers; large program room for up to 100 people; two 12-person conference rooms; and a vending area.

The building at the corner of Connecticut and N Streets, NW is finally completed. I think it looks awesome. Do you think it will age well? Overall thumbs up or down?
Incidentally has anyone heard any rumors of what retail will go in? Is there still a citibank here?

Remember the giant hole in the ground at Washington Circle by George Washington University? Here’s what it looks like now. Nearly finished. Last summer Mid-Atlantic construction wrote about the property at 2200 Pennsylvania Ave, NW:
“Ultimately, the project will include the office space and 84,000 sq ft of retail space. It will include a full-service grocery store, pedestrian plaza and 333 rental units.”
It will be interesting to see what retail is still planning to go into this space.
I know there’s mixed feelings about all glass buildings, but I think this one came out pretty well. What do you guys think – thumbs up or down?

I think the building above is part of National Geographic… This is on L or possibly M St, NW between 16th and 17th downtown. It’s got some great angles and a cool tiered green surface. I also like how it gets a very different look depending upon your angle. What do you guys think – thumbs up or down?

This building is on L St, NW just before you cross the bridge heading into Georgetown. It’s somehow affiliated with the Egyptian Embassy, I think. Anyway, what do you think of the building itself? Dig the architecture?

What do you think of the combination of glass and stone on this building at 251 H St, NW (the advertisement pains me)? Ignoring the ad, overall, thumbs up or down? This is also near the crazy little building we once looked at (that I think, it was decided was a vent of some sort?).

It’s been a while since we’ve taken a look at this pop up on Clifton between 13th and 14th Streets, NW. It’s looks like it’s nearly completed. So what do you think of the pop up and and the back – thumbs up or down?

We’ve been monitoring the progress of this building on the 1000 block of Kenyon St, NW for many months. I’ve always asked if you think it fits in with the block. I think we may have that answer now. I respect the amount of work that went into to this building but I’m not so sure it is meshing with the block. I know that can be a good thing sometimes but I’m not sure it is this time. What do you guys think – thumbs up or down?
