Meet Beautiful Britta! This sweet 6-year-old’s owner recently passed away, so she’s looking for a new home to call her own! Britta is a very outgoing and affectionate lady, who loves her people and loves to be a part of the action. She gets along well with other cats (with the proper introductions, of course – she’s a lady, after all) and will make someone an amazing companion! Britta is healthy, and is up to date on all vaccinations. This pretty girl is just looking for the right home to brighten – is it yours? Find out more about adopting Britta here or email [email protected]

Fannie Mae, (Mae-Mae as her foster mom calls her), is a sweet lady who has lots of love to give, seeking a new human to spoil her and enjoy life together. Fannie Mae’s human passed away, but fortunately this resilient girl is adapting well; she is starting to play with toys, wagging her tail and follows foster mom everywhere. Fannie Mae is an 8 year old, 24 pound, Dachshund/Beagle mix. She is current on her core vaccines and bloodwork and recently had her teeth cleaned. She gets along with cats and other dogs and she would be best in a home with older children. Please consider giving this sweet girl the life she so deserves. You couldn’t ask for a better pet who undoubtedly will become your devoted new best friend. If you have some room & love in your heart and home for Fannie Mae, email [email protected]

Volunteer Note: If you adopt one of these pets or already are the lucky owner of a pet, please consider planning for the unexpected.

“It’s with deep regret that I write to let you know that Coco (infamously known for standing guard over the porches of Argonne Place, NW) went home to meet her maker on Tuesday, April 30th. She was fortunate to have appeared on the Afternoon Animal Fix a few times over her 12 year reign.”

Azula and Nationals ace Max Scherzer have something special in common–they both have heterochromia, or two different colored eyes. And that’s not all–they are also athletic! Azula loves people and enjoys hiking with our volunteers, stopping occasionally for some much needed cuddles. She also enjoys running around in a yard and would possibly make a good running companion. With a bouncing stride, a wagging tail, and a “let’s go” outlook on life, Azula is eager to be someone’s partner in adventure!

If you pull out your Webster’s dictionary to look up our Webster, you might find yourself running out of words! Sweet, super chill, friendly, affectionate, playful, goofy… you could even say “portable” because this great guy likes to be carried around! So why not carry yourself over to meet him? We think some words that you might want to say right away are ‘he should be mine”!
