KitKat may be sweet, but she’s also known for having strong opinions about what she likes and what she doesn’t. And perhaps she’s a diva…but in this day and age, a girl’s got to look out for herself, right?! KitKat has a fondness for her humans, and if you turn out to be one of them, you will be rewarded with lots of purring, playing, and endless chattering on a variety of subjects. In return, she will expect the spot next to you on the couch or the bed to be reserved for her at all times. Also? You should close your laptop immediately when she gives you the signal to commence playtime. KitKat will greet you at the door when you come home so that she can provide a full report about her day, and maybe hear just a little bit about yours. She will expect treats on demand, and if she’s in the mood, some snuggles. KitKat will expect to be the only pet in your home – it just takes too long to get other cats up to speed on her house rules (and don’t get her started about dogs!). Please understand: it has taken KitKat her entire 7-year career as a cat to achieve diva status, so she will also need a firm commitment from you that you will never tell anyone else that she is actually a total lovebug. If you’d like to meet KitKat, please contact her human staff at [email protected]. You can also follow KitKat’s adventures on Instagram @dcfosterlove.

Meet Louie, known affectionately in his foster family as “Uncle Louie”! Louie is a senior pup who was surrendered when his family moved away. The shelter was too scary for this gentleman, so he’s now living with a wonderful foster family, where he gets along with: kids, dogs, cats, and rabbits! Louie is clearly a Renaissance man – now all he needs is a forever home, where he can enjoy his golden years! Louie is about 12 or 13 years old, and is a Chihuahua / Terrier mix. He weighs about 11 pounds, but could stand to gain a pound or two. Louie’s in good health and spry, and is incredibly sweet and laid back. He enjoys laying in the sunshine, getting along with and watching all his friends play, and getting snuggles on the couch! This handsome dude hasn’t had an easy few months, but he remains a loving guy who just wants a loving home. Find out more about adopting this sweet senior here.

Meatball is everything you could want in a kitty! He’s a great cat who entertains himself with toys and morning zoomies. He’d be good as a solo cat but would also enjoy partnering up with a playful small dog. The quintessential shadow cat, Meatball likes to be where the people are; he’ll even keep your feet warm when you’re sitting at the table, but he’s courteous about leaving you alone at night if you’re sleeping. He loves being pet and will even let you hold him like a baby. He’ll also keep you on schedule for his feedings with a sweet meow. In short, once you get a taste of Meatball, you’ll want more! Apply today.

Lennox is an affectionate, loyal, obedient dog who loves attention from people. He wags not only his tail, but his entire back end with enthusiasm! His wiggly butt is the exclamation point to his joy. Lennox always makes himself available for a good snuggle or kisses when you need them. He is a fan of long walks or runs and would be a good partner to someone who loves the outdoors or is a runner. He has excellent leash manners and knows several commands: sit, lay down, stay, come, heel, stop (stop at curb when walking) and don’t pull (when on leash). He also responds to his name. While Lennox is really sweet with people, he is more particular about the dogs he is friendly with. He might do best as an only dog until he learns how to properly introduce himself to other dogs. In the meantime, Lennox is pretty happy hanging out with people. His friendly, outgoing and energetic nature makes him a great companion. Apply today to meet this good boy.
