“Hi PoP:

This morning (Thursday) on my way to work, I walked past the Raven and all of their furniture was stacked neatly out in front of the building (see attached photo). I’ve heard no wails of sorrow go up in the neighborhood recently, so I’m assuming they’re not closing. Perhaps they are (almost as confusing/upsetting) . . . cleaning? Maybe exterminating? Was there some sort of beef jerky/Miller High Life combustion that now requires a scrub down? I turn to you and the greater PoP readership community for answers.”

Anyone know the scoop?

A reader sent in this photo saying:

She saw this truck “on the 300 block of T Street Saturday night . . . I guess this means someone has a haunted house?”

Then I was at Wonderland and someone said they have lived in a house that had a ghost. So I thought I’d throw this out there – anyone ever live in a haunted house? If so describe what you saw/heard. I wonder if these guys have them music? Dang now the Ghost Busters tune is totally stuck in my head…

“Dear PoP,

After 3 years of being stationed in DC, the military is moving us on to another part of the country. We’re hoping to come back after this tour and are thus planning to hang on to our condo in a small 6-unit building off of Georgia Ave, but are having a bit of trouble finding property managers who will manage a single unit in a given building – and I thought your readers may have some suggestions. Alternately, if anyone has any experience with self-managing a property from far, far away, that would be helpful too.”

Anyone have any advice/suggestions?

A reader combines my love of fire escapes and bbqs. He writes:

“Saw this on the side of an apartment building in Columbia Heights yesterday, and thought you might be interested. I guess if you don’t have a backyard but really want to barbecue, this is a sweet way to do it!”

I love it.

Super cool. Additionally, I normally prefer grass lawns but I think the gravel and rocks work here, you?

Here’s another cool Bloomingdale rowhouse. I like the detailed trim.

We last looked at the Howard Theater, located at T St, NW near Florida Ave, almost a year ago. Sadly it seems there has been very little progress. I’m not sure if this deserves a “Horses Ass Award” but it pains me to see zero external movement on this great structure. I wonder how much blame is due to the economy?
