“Dear PoPville,

I feel like this sign missed the mark. Why is the only DC women’s team listed as the Mystics and why are they ranked last? The Spirit literally sells out the stadium. Women’s sports are bigger than ever! There are so many DC women’s teams and it feels like everywhere (even an informational poster about rank choice voting) the DC women’s teams are not getting the respect they deserve. It makes me sad!”

Thanks to a reader for sending this morning.

Le Mont Royal closed after three years in Adams Morgan back on January 4th, 2026. Le Mont Royal, “a French-Canadian Disco”, opened here on January 6, 2023.

This space was previously home Southern Hospitality and before them the longtime home of  Adams Mill Bar and Grill.

Hopefully the space won’t stay vacant for too long…

His mother, Ana, has been my children’s nanny for nearly 4 years and I’m doing whatever I can to help – and quickly realize the thing most in my control is to help reduce the financial burden for the family.”

The gofundme says:

“For nearly four years, Ana has been a cherished part of our family. She has cared for our children with unwavering love, patience, and dedication, and over the years she has become much more than an employee—she has become family.

This week, her son, Willian, was detained by ICE while at work. Willian is the devoted father of two young U.S.-citizen children and the son of a naturalized U.S. citizen. He has been participating in the immigration process for years, has active work authorization issued by the U.S. government, and was actively pursuing his case through the legal system. His detention has left his family facing uncertainty and significant legal expenses at a moment when they should be focused on supporting one another. (more…)
