“Dear PoPville,

Location: Trinidad

Not all heroes wear capes. I was walking with a friend crossing Florida to northbound Staples St NE at approximately 2 PM on Saturday 18 April 2026. My friend and I looked west-northwest on the south side of Florida Ave, and approximately in front of 1322 Florida Ave NE, we saw someone moving a Lime bike. It was perpendicular to the eastbound bike lane, completely blocking the path. This good samaritan was removing it from the bike lane and putting it on the sidewalk, parallel to the path of travel and out of the way.

I am raising awareness about two things: (more…)

ICYMI: Kayu’s new location in Dupont Circle opened in August.

“Let us take you behind the name of MORENA.

Kayu and Morena feel like two shades of warmth – both depicts comfort and home. In Tagalog, MORENA refers to a warm shade of brown, a word that celebrates the natural beauty of sun-kissed skin.

It’s deeply meaningful to create spaces that feel personal, welcoming, and reflective of who we are.”

The good news from Morena:

“We’re ready to welcome you.

Our highly anticipated grand opening is finally here!

“Dear PoPville,

Sunday (4/12) I was walking my dog near Lincoln park between 3-4pm. My dog and I were standing at East Cap and 11th waiting to cross toward the park when a group of young boys on bikes and scooters came from the north, presumably from a baseball game since they were all dressed similarly in a dark green uniform. The first boy biked across 11th into the park without looking both ways, but there was no traffic coming. Immediately after, (more…)
