I’m super excited about these! Kelly Towles does not disappoint! Kelly used some photos of old signs I’ve taken over the last 20 years and came up with this great shirt. Do you recognize any of the signs? Simply a small sample but some of my favorites. These shirts are VERY limited. I only ordered a bunch to bring in person to our 20th anniversary party which will be this August 27th at Moreland’s Tavern. AND there will be a new PoPville beer from our friends at Atlas Brew Works unveiled that night. AND my friend Austin Graff will be hosting a 45 minute chat/Q&A with me before we start quaffing those beers! Stay tuned for more details as we get closer to August 27th but definitely save that date!!

Thanks to ANC Commissioner Jeff Rueckgauer for sharing with us:

“As suspected, Dupont Circle *WILL BE CLOSED* this weekend. IDK what legit “health and safety” concerns would occur this weekend that couldn’t occur any other days. (Actually, like last year, someone ordered it closed as a middle finger to gays.)”

From the National Park Service:

“Notice to the Public. Temporary Closure of Dupont Circle

“Dear PoPville,

I found this bird in the 4300 block of Harewood Road, NE. It is a sun conure. It is friendly and sweet.

Anyone who thinks it may belong to them can reach out to me with photos of their own lost bird so we can try to make a match. If I can’t find the owner, I will keep the bird, so I am not looking for adopters- just the true owner!”

From an email:

“The Office of Planning has published preliminary findings and recommendations for improving the H Street corridor and invite the community to join us in discussing them at an open house:

June 24, from 5:30-7:30pm at the former Autozone (1207 H St. NE)

The draft is based on research and analysis, input from over 200 community members, and coordination with District agencies. We’re inviting feedback at the open house and an online survey, open through July 26. We’ll then revise the draft to prepare a final study for release this fall.

Our initial findings point to a higher-than-average vacancy rate for ground floors, a decrease in visitor traffic over the past six years, (more…)
