Adams Morgan Residents Sign Up for The Mother of All Yard Sales coming this May

“Dear PoPville,

It’s that time of year again!

This year’s The Mother of All Yard Sales will be held on Saturday, May 17. It’s the region’s oldest (since 1987!) and biggest (40+ homes!) community yard sale, held each year in Adams Morgan (and only in Adams Morgan).

It’s free to participate. You just sell stuff in front of your home, and shoppers navigate between sales using an online neighborhood map. All we ask of participants is that they help spread the word, recruiting more sellers and shoppers!

“Dear PoPville,

This perpetrator was accosting dozens of innocent people yesterday at Meridian Hill/Malcolm X Park for more than an hour during the 5 to 6pm timeframe. Councilwoman Nadeau’s office responded to my outreach and is following up with the UOC (911 dispatch).”

I called 911 for the first time at 5:16 pm to report a male perpetrator – across the street from my apartment window – who was threatening passersby with physical harm and using hate slurs as part of the verbal threats (more…)

Do you believe in (minor) miracles?!? J.Crew is moving to the old Brooks Brothers space

3222 M Street, NW most recently briefly home to a Lululemon while they were remodeling their other space

Yesterday we learned that DC’s sole remaining J.Crew had “temporarily closed”, turns out it was only a temporary closure! I’m told:

“J Crew is moving to 3077 M — the old Brooks Brothers/Showfields space. They signed the lease with Eastbanc last year. It should open shortly so it is truly a temporary close.”

Stay tuned for an opening date.
