Full press release:
“Fruitive, the fast-casual restaurant known for its 100% plant-based and organic menu, will officially celebrate the grand opening of its newest location on Wednesday, February 18th, at 701 Pennsylvania Avenue NW in Penn Quarter. To mark the occasion, on opening day all guests will receive a complimentary order of Fruitive’s signature Avocado Toast and a Ginger Immunity Shot, available while supplies last.
The new Penn Quarter location represents an exciting expansion for the locally loved brand, featuring a larger 2,500-square-foot space and an expanded menu. In addition to Fruitive’s signature cold-pressed juices and smoothies made fresh in-house, guests can enjoy hearty grain bowls, vegan waffles, and other clean, nourishing options designed for breakfast, lunch, and on-the-go dining. Many of the offerings are built with functional ingredients that support everyday wellness, while staying rooted in flavor, simplicity, and quality sourcing.
Founded in 2015 by husband-and-wife team Gregg and Katie Rozeboom, Fruitive first opened in DC at 1094 Palmer Alley NW as one of CityCenterDC’s original tenants. Since then, the brand has become a staple in Washington, DC’s health-focused dining scene, earning a loyal following for its acai bowls, smoothies, wraps, and commitment to sustainable, thoughtfully sourced ingredients.
At the heart of that commitment is Fruitive’s signature acai, made with a specialty variety directly sourced from Bolivia through a community-led fair-trade model. “Visiting Bolivia and meeting the communities behind our acai reinforced why sourcing matters,” said Gregg Rozeboom, co-founder of Fruitive. “We believe great food should be rooted in respect, for our growers and our guests.”
ABOUT FRUITIVE: Fruitive Penn Quarter is located at 701 Pennsylvania Avenue NW, Washington, DC (Corner of 7th and D St NW). The restaurant will be open daily from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, with expanded hours coming in March.”
