From Moby Dick House of Kabob:

Moby Dick House of Kabob, the beloved Iranian kabob restaurant serving the DC area for more than 30 years, announced today the launch of Sandwiches for the Shutdown, a give-back initiative to support federal employees affected by the government shutdown.

Beginning Monday October 27, 2025, all Moby Dick locations will offer free lunch sandwiches to federal employees who present a valid federal ID, weekdays from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

“When the government shuts down, our kitchen steps up,” said Alex Momeni, COO of Moby Dick House of Kabob. “We want to give back to federal employees affected by the shutdown. It’s our way of saying thank you for keeping the nation moving.”

Rooted in culture and community, Moby Dick House of Kabob has long been a staple of the region’s dining scene, known for its flame-grilled kabobs, house-baked pita, gyro sandwiches, and commitment to quality ingredients. With Sandwiches for the Shutdown, the brand extends that same care to those directly impacted by the shutdown, turning compassion into action.

Federal employees can visit any participating Moby Dick House of Kabob locations during the designated lunch hours to redeem their complimentary sandwich by showing a valid federal ID.
