Adams Morgan

Adams Morgan, nay, DC is losing one its very best restaurants at the end of the year.

1827 Adams Mill Road, NW opening week back in February 2016

If you’ve ever had the pleasure of hitting up Tail Up Goat, you know what I’m talking about. This is a very very sad loss coming.

Tail Up Goat posts on their IG:

“Big news, big feelings.

We’re filled with so much gratitude for what we’ve built together at Tail Up Goat. Over the next eight months,

we’ll be celebrating the incredible community that has made this place feel like home.

To our guests—your loyalty, your stories, your celebrations (and even your chaos) have shaped this space in ways we could have never imagined. Whether you’ve come in once or a hundred times, you’ve left your mark on us.

To our team, past and present—you are the heart of it all. Your curiosity, creativity, hustle, and kindness are what make this place not just good, but great. We are so proud of what we’ve accomplished together and so lucky to have shared it with you.

We’re committed to making the rest of this year the best it’s ever been—full of delicious food, warm hospitality, and a lot of joy. Let’s make the most of it.

Don’t be a stranger.
We’d love to see you.”

Axios reported:

“Faced with an expiring lease, owners Jill Tyler, chef Jon Sybert and Bill Jensen agreed it was time. “Had the last few years not happened [with the pandemic], maybe we’d be having a different conversation,” Sybert tells Axios.
