Heads Up – “Weekend trackwork: Buses replace trains on portions of Blue, Orange, and Silver Lines”

From WMATA:

“Metro has trackwork on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday and adjusted service hours on Monday due to the Presidents’ Day holiday.

On Saturday, Sunday, and Monday, the Blue Line will operate Franconia-Springfield to Greenbelt. There will be no Blue Line service from Pentagon to Downtown Largo.

The Orange Line will operate in two segments between Vienna and Clarendon and Foggy Bottom and New Carrolton.

The Silver Line will operate in two segments between Ashburn and Clarendon and Foggy Bottom and Downtown Largo due to track maintenance.

Local and express shuttle buses replace trains between Foggy Bottom and Pentagon and Foggy Bottom and Clarendon.

Crews will be working to replace the switch machines in the interlocking where trains are able to cross between separate tracks. Crews will also rebuild concrete grout pads that support the tracks, and install new platform edge lighting.”
