82 I Street, SE. Opened here in 2017
Thanks to Jason (and everyone else) for sending: “Saw this today at the Navy Yard Slipstream. Felt like it was only a matter of time when they started closing for dinner.”
Ed. Note: I hear a Compass Coffee is taking over the space. Stay tuned for more on that. If you would always like to be the first to hear the scuttlebutt please join our patreon. We shared this Slipstream scuttlebutt on Sept. 12th.
Slipstream shared yesterday:
“You may have heard from our newsletter that we are closing our Capitol Riverfront location at the end of this week.
This choice was not made lightly and we are deeply thankful to the community and every customer who supported us there.
While it’s hard to close a chapter, we are excited about what lies ahead. These changes are a step towards our future and we are focused on new and innovative ways to bring you great coffee experiences!
There are lots of ways to stay connected (and there are more to come!): visit our Downtown and Studio Theatre spaces, enjoy our roasted coffee offerings for your at-home coffee needs, reach out for event and catering needs, and stay tuned for upcoming fall and winter tasting events.”
And from the aforementioned newsletter:
“Ballston and Capitol Riverfront Closure
We have made the difficult decision to close our Ballston and Capitol Riverfront locations. Our Ballston location’s last day was September 2nd, and the last day for Capitol Riverfront will be next Friday, September 20th. These choices were not made lightly, and we are deeply thankful to both communities and every customer who supported us there.
While it’s always hard to close a chapter, we are excited about what lies ahead. These changes are a step towards our future and we are focused on new and innovative ways to bring you great coffee experiences.”
