From a press release:

“Sticky Fingers, the beloved woman-owned DC-based bakery from two-time Cupcake Wars champion, Doron Petersan, is now sweetening up more of the DMV. Its latest retail outlet and flagship commercial kitchen opens its doors on Tuesday, January 23rd in the Takoma neighborhood of DC, at 314 Carroll Street NW, across from the Takoma Metro Station. The bakery takes over the space formerly occupied by Soupergirl, and will carry Soupergirl soups in its grab-and-go section.

While the bakery has a “soft opening” this week, it will gradually expand its hours and offerings over the coming weeks, and have a grand opening celebration for the community next month.

Takoma Bakery Offers More Savory Items

In addition to a state-of-the-art production facility to meet the growing demand for its mail order and wholesale bakery items and mixes, the Takoma retail bakery offers its top sellers including chocolate chip and Cowvin Cookies, brownies, and seasonal and classic cupcakes, as well as custom cakes.

The retail space also features newer savory additions such as plant-based ham and cheese croissants, spinach and feta Danishes, sandwiches, artisanal vegan cheese, and house-made charcuterie, in addition to Soupergirl soups. The bakery also has freshly brewed coffee, which it sources from Alexandria-based Swing’s Coffee.

“When I first moved to DC in 1995, I lived in and fell in love with Takoma Park. Ever since we opened our first shop in 2002, I’ve been looking for an opportunity to get back to the most welcoming community I’ve ever known. I am so excited to bring our sweets and eats to the Takoma and Takoma Park community, and have an opportunity to serve Shepherd Park, Silver Spring, Brightwood, and other neighborhoods in the area. I feel like we’re coming home!,” according to founder Doron Petersan.

The new bakery meets most dietary needs, including vegan and kosher pareve. It is a peanut- and shellfish-free facility, and has gluten-free options.

During January, the hours for the retail bakery will vary, and it will be closed on Mondays. In February, Sticky Fingers Bakery will be open to the public from 7 AM – 7 PM Mondays – Fridays, and 8 AM – 7 PM on Saturdays and Sundays.

We’re about a month out from summer. That means you’ve still got time for spring cleaning!

Lexi Grant, an operations manager at Well-Paid Maids, shared her go-to spring cleaning tips with WTOP News. Step one? Declutter. Get rid of items you don’t use, find space for items that need a home and organize those areas.

Then, it’s time to dust. Lexi starts with high-touch surface areas (think: refrigerator, dishwasher, counters, microwave). One area she sees often neglected is the bedroom — and it makes sense. Heavy furniture is difficult to move around, but it’s important to really get in there so dust doesn’t affect your sleep.
