Three More Reports from Mount Pleasant about aggressive unstable woman, particularly against those walking dogs

“Dear Popville,

Back in May of this year, I had a run in with a lady matching the description from the previous posts. As I was walking my dog, I heard a commotion around Newton and Brown Streets NW, saw someone moving some recycling bins, didn’t think anything of it, and kept walking toward Monroe. I heard a sound from behind me then a glass bottle shattered

on the street near me and the dog and the woman takes off running toward Newton. I went over to 17th, called the police, and warned someone walking by what just happened. Police took the information and I later saw a cop drive around but that was it.

About a week later, I was biking to work and I saw the same woman in the same clothes sitting on the wooden ledge by the apartment building at the saw corner of 17th/Newton.”

and

“I also encountered this woman when on a walk with my dog in 2021 in Columbia Heights. She started chasing us, yelling things, and throwing glass bottles at us (some she had on her, some she would find on the street while chasing us). Luckily we got back to my apartment building before she caught up to us and the door automatically locks, but she followed us, and when she realized the door was locked, she continued throwing glass bottles at the building but eventually left. I’ve also heard friends say they’ve witnessed her throw a punch at someone when walking along 16th st.”

and

“I’ve encountered the same woman people have described seeing in Mt. Pleasant but in Columbia Heights in the 14th and Spring Rd area. I’ve seen her on and off every few months for a couple years, I always hope she’s getting the help she needs when she disappears.

She’s very aggressive towards me and appears to be triggered by just the sight of a dog so I always try to walk around her. Shes thrown punches at me, threw an open cup of water at me, and most recently threw a glass bottle at me as I was walking into my building that thankfully didn’t hit me or my dog but shattered everywhere. Definitely recommend avoiding her at all costs if you have a dog.”

Finding a gift for moms can be difficult. Google “Mother’s Day gifts,” and you’ll scroll through endless lists of beauty products, candles and fuzzy robes. Sure, those are sweet, but sometimes it’s fun to surprise loved ones with something a little more, well, practical!

Here’s one idea: Give her a gift certificate for a home cleaning from Well-Paid Maids. It’s the perfect “thank you,” “I love you” or “you’ve got this” for any mom. She can schedule the home cleaning at her convenience and breathe easy knowing she has one less thing to do.

Our cleaners will take care of everything, including vacuuming and mopping as well as cleaning and dusting countertops, tables, mirrors, appliances and more. Sinks, toilets, showers and appliance exteriors also get a good scrub.
