I was walking from Georgia towards 13th (coming back from Papa John’s), when I noticed the impressively Borg-like ugliness of the building that has been constructed. I took a photo. 2 young dudes hanging out next to the house did NOT like that,
and I hadn’t even noticed them when I stopped to take the photo. They said something I didn’t understand, and I waved bye-bye and continued walking. By the time I was halfway down 13th street between Madison and Longfellow, they were close enough that they could run to attack me if they wanted to, and they would move faster and slower just to emphasize it.
A number of verbal threats and epithets were thrown my way, and I was fortunate to escape unscathed, although my adrenal glands got an unpleasant workout. I’ve lived in this neighborhood for 20 years, and this is only the 2nd time I’ve felt threatened. Just wondering if you might alert community members to the high possibility of dangerous situations arising on the 1200 block of Madison.”
