“I would love thank this amazingly thoughtful and kind stranger for this blessing!”

“Dear PoPville,

Can you help me find this Good Samaritan? I lost my keys Saturday and spent at least 30 minutes desperately stressing out: retracing my steps over and over, crawling in the grass wherever I could have dropped them, coming up with any and every contingency plans i could. Truly devastated and frustrated at myself for this oversight. And then, I look into my car (which was mercifully still placed where I parked it a few hours prior). There, on the passenger seat, is a doggy bag with my keys inside. I can’t tell you how much my mind is blown and my heart warmed by this astounding act of thoughtfulness and kindness. I would love thank this amazingly thoughtful and kind stranger for this blessing!”

Ed. Note: I was a little confused so here’s a bit more explanation:

“The key ring had my house keys and my car key, which has a Nissan logo and buttons on it. So I’m guessing they found the keys, and either used the alarm button or just the unlock button to see if any nearby cars beeped. And then they didn’t want to leave the keys just on or in the car so they left them inside a dog poop bag. I’m just so touched that not only did they take the time to find the car, but also had the foresight to put the keys there in a semi-concealed way (and I’m so glad I noticed them!). And I’m so grateful no one stole the car in the time the keys were just sitting there in an unlocked car! I dont actually expect to be able to find this person or thank them properly but with all the ick in the world, this kindness truly warmed my heart. I’m so grateful. And so relieved.”

If you were this good samaritan you can email me at [email protected] and I can put you in touch with OP.

Potomac Harmony is Back! Following a gap year of competing, then virtual rehearsals during the pandemic, followed by the well-earned retirement of our long-term director, a year of a director search, Potomac Harmony hit the regional contest stage in Concord, North Carolina in March for the first time since 2018! It was exhilarating, reaffirming, and rewarding!

The chorus hit all of its goals, the biggest of which was to have fun and sing our best on contest stage — we did both! Because we earned a score over 400 points, our new Director, Allison Lynskey, was awarded the Novice Director award, photo above. Additionally, one of our charter members, Jackie Bottash, was nominated for and honored with the Leadership Excellence award. It was a celebratory weekend!

What’s next? So much! We now look forward to upcoming performances, growing our membership, and expanding our musical product with new arrangements and an education component each week. It’s an exciting time to be part of this ever-growing ensemble!
