“Dear PoPville,
On the night of April 9th, I was involved in a cycling accident near 6th & G St NE while on my way home from Union Station and suffered a traumatic brain injury. I don’t have any recollection of the accident, but I know that I was alone and badly in need of help.
The next morning in the hospital, my nurse told me that two extraordinarily kind people saw me on the side of the road after the accident, called for an ambulance, and waited with me until it arrived. Without their fast-acting help, things may have gone far worse.
I don’t know your names, but I just want to say thank you for making sure I was safe and cared for. I am in great shape today and I owe that, in part, to your diligence and time that evening. And to all other PoPville readers — make sure to wear your helmet when you ride a bike! Stay safe out there!”
