This is a warning for bikers riding near New Hampshire Avenue, 16th & U Streets NW. My husband wiped out on his bike yesterday due to the construction (they have excavated the road and it suddenly drops 6 inches).
There was no warning sign that the road surface was going to change and he was riding downhill when it just dropped out from under him and he was thrown over the handlebars. He is banged up and has a broken arm. A friend lives nearby and saw another person wipe out in the same spot.”
