Shooting in Shaw Tuesday Night “a stray bullet hit the PH lounge glass”

“Dear PoPville,

Management sent my building an email saying a stray bullet hit a window on our ninth floor in Tuesday night’s shooting. The sightline of first photo is based on the bullet trajectory looking towards the barrel of the gun. Trajectory estimated from point of impact in glass and wall behind glass). View is eastward along O St NW, between 9th and 7th.”

Original note from building management:

“There was a shooting incident that occurred last night [Tuesday] around 9:30 PM located around 7th and O NW. You are receiving this message because a stray bullet hit the PH lounge glass. MPD was called at 945 am this morning when we noticed the shattered glass. Management filed a “Damage to Property” report that will be included with the existing shooting report. MPD has identified and arrested a suspect involved in the shooting.

At this time, management and maintenance are working collectively to board up the window until we can get it replaced. The area is currently free of debris and loose glass. We are asking any residents that have been affected by the shooting to contact our office immediately. If you are away and would like for us to do a well-check on your unit, please reach out.

For reference, the police report # is 2021-132-047 | District/Unit: 3D 3079.”

Finding a gift for moms can be difficult. Google “Mother’s Day gifts,” and you’ll scroll through endless lists of beauty products, candles and fuzzy robes. Sure, those are sweet, but sometimes it’s fun to surprise loved ones with something a little more, well, practical!

Here’s one idea: Give her a gift certificate for a home cleaning from Well-Paid Maids. It’s the perfect “thank you,” “I love you” or “you’ve got this” for any mom. She can schedule the home cleaning at her convenience and breathe easy knowing she has one less thing to do.

Our cleaners will take care of everything, including vacuuming and mopping as well as cleaning and dusting countertops, tables, mirrors, appliances and more. Sinks, toilets, showers and appliance exteriors also get a good scrub.
