“New Happy Hour Menu at All-Purpose in Shaw”

From an email:

“All-Purpose in Shaw, recently reopened for indoor dining, has launched a new Happy Hour that includes $5 beers, $7 wines by the glass, $9 cocktails and a $10 cheese pizza. The Happy Hour menu is available from 5 pm to 6 pm in the dining room and 5 pm to 7 pm at the bar. All-Purpose in Shaw is located at 1250 9th St NW, just across the street from the Walter E. Washington Convention Center.

The selection of $9 cocktails available during Happy Hour includes the Nitro Negroni with Damrak Gin, Campari, and Cocchi Torino, a Pimm’s Cup with Pimm’s No. 1, sparkling lemonade, fresh mint and cucumber, the pink-hued Maui Madness Margarita with tequila, a herbal tea blend, and agave necatar, the AP Old Fashioned with bourbon, sugar, and bitters, or a refreshing Aperol Spritz with Aperol, prosecco, and orange.

The Happy Hour menu also includes a rotating selection of local draft beers for $5 like Solace Brewing’s Czech Style Pils, DC Brau’s In Session IPA, Port City Brewing’s Optimal Wit, and Black Flag’s Kelly Kapowski, as well as options for $7 wines by the glass. And, if guests are feeling peckish after all those libations, All-Purpose’s Standard cheese pizza is also on the menu for just $10 only during Happy Hour (normally $16).

All-Purpose Shaw is open for Dinner Monday through Thursday from 5:00pm to 10:00pm, Friday and Saturday from 5:00pm to 11:00pm and Sunday 5:00pm to 9:00pm.”

Potomac Harmony is Back! Following a gap year of competing, then virtual rehearsals during the pandemic, followed by the well-earned retirement of our long-term director, a year of a director search, Potomac Harmony hit the regional contest stage in Concord, North Carolina in March for the first time since 2018! It was exhilarating, reaffirming, and rewarding!

The chorus hit all of its goals, the biggest of which was to have fun and sing our best on contest stage — we did both! Because we earned a score over 400 points, our new Director, Allison Lynskey, was awarded the Novice Director award, photo above. Additionally, one of our charter members, Jackie Bottash, was nominated for and honored with the Leadership Excellence award. It was a celebratory weekend!

What’s next? So much! We now look forward to upcoming performances, growing our membership, and expanding our musical product with new arrangements and an education component each week. It’s an exciting time to be part of this ever-growing ensemble!
