“Flipped Home Buyers Beware”

Figured I would share my misfortune for the greater good! We have lived in a stereotypical “flipped” rowhome the last 3 years. So far, it has treated us well with the exception of mice that have suddenly appeared over the last few weeks. After calling a pest control company I was shocked to learn from the tech before he even had a chance to look around my home for entry points that “they’re getting in behind a kitchen appliance.”

He proceeded to explain to me that these flipped homes tend to have shotty work in areas we typically don’t see — i.e. behind your dishwasher, fridge, etc. In installing these appliances, they tend to leave huge gaping holes in the wall that act like express lanes into your home for rodents.

I was previously given the excellent advice that before move-in it’s really worth the money to call a pest control company to come out and look for weak spots in your home to fix the issue before it arises. I’ll definitely be taking that advice with our next home purchase and hopefully keep the mice out before I move in.”
