Well this is terrifying

“Dear PoPville,

Warning to women: I was broken into twice over the past 1.5 months. The first time they stole cash, the second time nothing was stolen, however my bolt lock was left unlocked. After the second robbery, I realized my bars in my bedroom window were not secured, so a heavy duty Locke was placed on the bars and I installed security cameras. The cops were called both times. I have put together a few strange things that have happened last few months–

mostly my ceilings fans are on high sometimes when I come home (I always left them on low speed but thought it was something electrical). Most recently on September 16 I got an alert on my video camera while at a friends house. This man with a beanie and black mask on was outside my window, I called 911 but the cops found nothing.

Today, September 17, I get another alert at my bedroom window shortly after 1pm. It’s a man waving his arms around outside my window, seemingly to test the motion sensor. The police came to my apartment to file an official report, watched the videos and confirmed the man in the second video is most likely the one peeping in my window on the 17th and most likely responsible for my other break-ins. Police say he’ll be under arrest if they see/find him.”

Potomac Harmony is Back! Following a gap year of competing, then virtual rehearsals during the pandemic, followed by the well-earned retirement of our long-term director, a year of a director search, Potomac Harmony hit the regional contest stage in Concord, North Carolina in March for the first time since 2018! It was exhilarating, reaffirming, and rewarding!

The chorus hit all of its goals, the biggest of which was to have fun and sing our best on contest stage — we did both! Because we earned a score over 400 points, our new Director, Allison Lynskey, was awarded the Novice Director award, photo above. Additionally, one of our charter members, Jackie Bottash, was nominated for and honored with the Leadership Excellence award. It was a celebratory weekend!

What’s next? So much! We now look forward to upcoming performances, growing our membership, and expanding our musical product with new arrangements and an education component each week. It’s an exciting time to be part of this ever-growing ensemble!
