Taim Falafel opening first D.C. location Friday

1065 Wisconsin Ave, NW

Thanks to Arnold for sending: “Taím had a special soft-opening lunch today for neighbors to taste the food and meet the staff. The official opening day is this Friday, August 23.

I’m already a Taím fan from their New York City locations. DC is the first outside-of-DC site — and it’s the same great food New Yorkers (and tourists) love. They’ll be open beginning Friday but the grand opening will now be Monday — balloons and all!”

Previously we learned:

“Taim means tasty in Hebrew. And that’s really all you need to know.

But if you insist on reading rather than eating, we’ll continue with the story. Taim began in 2005 as a tiny storefront in the West Village, a place whereChef Einatcould share her love of falafel with the world…okay maybe just lower Manhattan. And not solely falafel, but everything that goes with it like sabich, s’rug and amba, cauliflower shawarma and smoothies.”

Check out their menu here.

Potomac Harmony is Back! Following a gap year of competing, then virtual rehearsals during the pandemic, followed by the well-earned retirement of our long-term director, a year of a director search, Potomac Harmony hit the regional contest stage in Concord, North Carolina in March for the first time since 2018! It was exhilarating, reaffirming, and rewarding!

The chorus hit all of its goals, the biggest of which was to have fun and sing our best on contest stage — we did both! Because we earned a score over 400 points, our new Director, Allison Lynskey, was awarded the Novice Director award, photo above. Additionally, one of our charter members, Jackie Bottash, was nominated for and honored with the Leadership Excellence award. It was a celebratory weekend!

What’s next? So much! We now look forward to upcoming performances, growing our membership, and expanding our musical product with new arrangements and an education component each week. It’s an exciting time to be part of this ever-growing ensemble!
