“What DC Do You Live In? A Workshop about Gentrification, Displacement & Race.”

From an email:

“On Wednesday, July 31, 2019, the YWCA National Capital Area is hosting its next Courageous Conversation called “What DC Do You Live In? A Workshop about Gentrification, Displacement & Race.” It will run from 6-8 p.m. at Franklin D. Reeves Municipal Center, 2000 U Street NW, Washington, DC.

Our city is struggling to integrate new development and residents into long standing communities and culture. These changes cause disruption, displacement, and disdain. And, we need to talk to about it.

This workshop is part of a series of courageous conversations that the YWCA National Capital Area plans for this year – for community dialogue, education, and to empower each of us to take an active role in dismantling racism.

We are asking folks to RSVP here since space is limited. All are welcome and food will be provided.”
