“As of May 1, 2019, a total of 4,935 dockless vehicles will be permitted to operate in the District.”

Please don’t tell this guy.

From DDOT:

“The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) issued fleet expansion permits to dockless operators in the District of Columbia. With the new permits dockless operators will add up to 300 bikes and 435 scooters. As of May 1, 2019, a total of 4,935 dockless vehicles will be permitted to operate in the District.

“This fleet expansion is the next step in our incremental approach to integrating dockless vehicles in the District’s transportation network,” said DDOT Director Jeff Marootian. “With this approach, we are making progress toward Mayor Bowser’s sustainable transportation goals, while maintaining a focus on safety and equity for all Washingtonians.”

Dockless operators applied for the quarterly fleet increases as outlined in the Terms and Conditions of the permits issued in December 2018. DDOT used information submitted by the operators and data gathered by DDOT to evaluate the operators’ performance between January 1 and March 31, 2019. DDOT scored operators on compliance, data, equity, and safety.

DDOT granted the following fleet expansion permits:

Jump – 300 (bikes)
Lime – 75 (scooters)
Lyft – 120 (scooters)
Skip – 120 (scooters)
Spin – 120 (scooters)”

Potomac Harmony is Back! Following a gap year of competing, then virtual rehearsals during the pandemic, followed by the well-earned retirement of our long-term director, a year of a director search, Potomac Harmony hit the regional contest stage in Concord, North Carolina in March for the first time since 2018! It was exhilarating, reaffirming, and rewarding!

The chorus hit all of its goals, the biggest of which was to have fun and sing our best on contest stage — we did both! Because we earned a score over 400 points, our new Director, Allison Lynskey, was awarded the Novice Director award, photo above. Additionally, one of our charter members, Jackie Bottash, was nominated for and honored with the Leadership Excellence award. It was a celebratory weekend!

What’s next? So much! We now look forward to upcoming performances, growing our membership, and expanding our musical product with new arrangements and an education component each week. It’s an exciting time to be part of this ever-growing ensemble!
