From an email:

“On April 15, local hospitality innovators Eric and Ian Hilton will officially debut Skybox (1400 14th Street NW), their new 2,490-square-foot rooftop bar that boasts a stunning, nearly 360-degree panoramic view of Logan Circle and beyond. Located atop the brothers’ popular Players’ Club — an ode to 70s and 80s video games, music and culture — Skybox is also a nostalgic nod to the D.C. of yesteryear. The name harkens back to the heyday of the gone-but-not-forgotten Capital Centre, where private skyboxes equaled peak cool for some.

With its sports-inspired custom mural, vintage stripes motif & color scheme, massive wraparound awning and creative cocktail menu that includes new favorites “Red Hot Chili Pineapple Batida” (reposado tequila, red chili pepper, pineapple, milk and nutmeg) and the “Papillon Highball” (12-year-old rum, sweet vermouth, banana liqueur, bitters, lemon and club soda), Skybox is a warm-weather treat with unparalleled views of the Washington skyline.

Skybox will be open:

Sunday, 2pm-midnight

Monday-Thursday, 4pm-midnight

Friday, 4pm-1:30am

Saturday, 2pm-1:30am”

Potomac Harmony is Back! Following a gap year of competing, then virtual rehearsals during the pandemic, followed by the well-earned retirement of our long-term director, a year of a director search, Potomac Harmony hit the regional contest stage in Concord, North Carolina in March for the first time since 2018! It was exhilarating, reaffirming, and rewarding!

The chorus hit all of its goals, the biggest of which was to have fun and sing our best on contest stage — we did both! Because we earned a score over 400 points, our new Director, Allison Lynskey, was awarded the Novice Director award, photo above. Additionally, one of our charter members, Jackie Bottash, was nominated for and honored with the Leadership Excellence award. It was a celebratory weekend!

What’s next? So much! We now look forward to upcoming performances, growing our membership, and expanding our musical product with new arrangements and an education component each week. It’s an exciting time to be part of this ever-growing ensemble!
