1am Shooting in Dupont Circle; Shooting Homicide in SW

“This morning at approximately 1:00 am, the Metropolitan Police Department responded to a call for shooting in the 1800 block of Massachusetts Avenue, NW. When officers arrived on the scene, they located an adult male in a vehicle suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a local hospital conscious and breathing. There is no lookout for the suspect at this time. The east side of Dupont Circle will remain closed until further notice as this investigation continues. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call 202-727-9099.”

“ANOTHER DUPONT CIRCLE SHOOTING (2ND WEEKEND IN A ROW)- a 27-year-old man going now to a trauma center after he was shot in the eye. He is conscious. No suspect info.”

“Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred in the 300 block of P Street, Southwest, on Saturday, November 25, 2017.

At approximately 9:20 pm, members of the First District responded to the listed location for the report of the sound of gunshots.

Upon arrival on the scene, members located an adult male and a juvenile male suffering from gunshot wounds, in the 1400 block of 4th Street, Southwest. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene and transported both victims to local hospitals for treatment. After all lifesaving efforts failed, the adult male victim was pronounced dead. The juvenile male victim was treated for non-life threatening injuries.

The decedent has been identified as 18-year-old Khyre Amar Ledbetter, of Northeast, DC.

The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia. Anyone with information about this case is asked to call the police at 202-727-9099. Additionally, anonymous information may be submitted to the department’s TEXT TIP LINE by sending a text message to 50411.”

Potomac Harmony is Back! Following a gap year of competing, then virtual rehearsals during the pandemic, followed by the well-earned retirement of our long-term director, a year of a director search, Potomac Harmony hit the regional contest stage in Concord, North Carolina in March for the first time since 2018! It was exhilarating, reaffirming, and rewarding!

The chorus hit all of its goals, the biggest of which was to have fun and sing our best on contest stage — we did both! Because we earned a score over 400 points, our new Director, Allison Lynskey, was awarded the Novice Director award, photo above. Additionally, one of our charter members, Jackie Bottash, was nominated for and honored with the Leadership Excellence award. It was a celebratory weekend!

What’s next? So much! We now look forward to upcoming performances, growing our membership, and expanding our musical product with new arrangements and an education component each week. It’s an exciting time to be part of this ever-growing ensemble!
