MVP Sports Bar Opened on 7th Street near the Old Passenger Sept. 29th

1015 7th Street, NW

How in the world did I miss this?!? MVP’s website says:

“A truly great sports bar must be awash in TVs, offer an inordinate selection of beers, whiskeys, tequilas and excel at something good, saucy and routinely on special, and must end up all over dress shirts.

MVP’s our one-size-fits-all Sports Bar concept, with more than 28 HDTVs, two video wall, dozens of beers, and huge selection of Whiskey’s and Tequilas (did we say HUGE?).

It doesn’t stop there, our ‘Farm-To-Table’ locally sourced take on comfort food means along with buffalo wings, fries and a lengthy list of sliders (Sliders -that’s out thing). we’ll also serve Shrimp & Grits, Chicken Waffles, Fried Ravioli, and Avocado Tostadas. We truly believe that the way food is raised can change and transform lives…from the farmer who grows it to the person who eats it.

Whether it be sports, live music, food, beer or any other events, Shaws newest Sport Bar MVP is NOW OPEN!”

Check out their menu here.

Anyone watch a game there yet?

Potomac Harmony is Back! Following a gap year of competing, then virtual rehearsals during the pandemic, followed by the well-earned retirement of our long-term director, a year of a director search, Potomac Harmony hit the regional contest stage in Concord, North Carolina in March for the first time since 2018! It was exhilarating, reaffirming, and rewarding!

The chorus hit all of its goals, the biggest of which was to have fun and sing our best on contest stage — we did both! Because we earned a score over 400 points, our new Director, Allison Lynskey, was awarded the Novice Director award, photo above. Additionally, one of our charter members, Jackie Bottash, was nominated for and honored with the Leadership Excellence award. It was a celebratory weekend!

What’s next? So much! We now look forward to upcoming performances, growing our membership, and expanding our musical product with new arrangements and an education component each week. It’s an exciting time to be part of this ever-growing ensemble!
