City Tap House Dupont Circle Opening October 2nd!

1250 Connecticut Ave, NW

From a presss release:

“Neighborhood gastropub City Tap Dupont will open its doors to the public for lunch and dinner on Monday, October 2, serving American fare and pouring drafts from 40 tap lines in the Dupont Circle neighborhood of Northwest DC. Guests can look forward to a lively happy hour scene and late night entertainment with possible DJ sets on weekends, as well as a fresh destination for brunch which kicks off Saturday, October 7. Guests can make reservations before doors open by emailing [email protected], although reservations will be accepted on OpenTable starting September 25. City Tap Dupont is the second City Tap location in Washington for parent company Table 95 Hospitality, which opened City Tap Penn Quarter in winter 2013.

“We’re thrilled to add a Dupont location to our City Tap family in D.C. and bring elevated pub food, an approachable, dynamic beer selection, and a great new neighborhood spot to even more guests in the region,” says Jon Ball, Table 95 Hospitality’s Managing Partner for the Mid-Atlantic. “Some key changes were made to the restaurant space, like adding a 360-degree bar front and center, that we hope will give this restaurant a new energy and capture the tone of the wider Dupont neighborhood. We’re hoping to see guests come in for a variety of occasions, whether that means a lunch meeting, date night, drinks with friends, or catching a game.”

Conveniently located just south of the Dupont Circle metro station, City Tap Dupont will serve modern American dishes, combining fresh new plates with favorites guests may recognize from City Tap Penn Quarter. Exciting new menu additions include grilled ahi tuna with shrimp and avocado ceviche and pumpkin burrata bruschetta, served alongside flavorful City Tap signatures like corn and crab hushpuppies with honey butter. Rotating specials like crispy suckling pig will be offered on different days of the week, with a unique ‘Green Special’ dinner feature available on Sundays utilizing fresh ingredients from the nearby FRESHFarm Dupont Market. During brunch, guests can enjoy plates like a Maryland crab Benedict, crispy pork hash, and chicken and waffles, as well as bottomless mimosas and a make-your-own Bloody Mary bar for $18. A focused late night food menu featuring satisfying dishes will also be available from 11pm to 1am on Fridays and Saturdays for guests grabbing a bite at the end of the evening.

True to the City Tap brand, City Tap Dupont delivers on the beer with an impressive 40 draft lines and a selection that will switch up seasonally and during tap takeovers hosted throughout the year. Over 30 choices of bottled and canned beers are available in addition to the draft lineup, as well as a curated wine list and a cocktail menu featuring premium takes on established classics.

Happy hour at City Tap Dupont will run Monday through Friday from 4pm to 7pm, featuring $4 canned craft beer selections, 13 draft beers available for $5, $6 house wines, and $6 mixed drinks. Snackable plates like elote corn dip, Israeli hummus, charred brussels sprouts, and BBQ pulled pork sliders will be available for $6 during happy hour. Management is looking to debut late night entertainment later this fall, with plans for a live DJ spinning on Friday and Saturday nights.

Guests visiting City Tap Dupont will notice striking design elements in the restaurant, which can accommodate 180 seated guests in the 9,300 square-foot space. A 40-seat copper-topped square bar occupying the front of the restaurant sets a buzzing energy, maintained by airy floor-to-ceiling windows allowing in natural light and a view of Washington’s bustling Connecticut Avenue. Orange leather accents, wood paneling, and antique decorations hand-selected by City Tap’s management team reinforce the restaurant’s tone as a comfortable yet modern hangout. A flexible private dining space tucked behind the dining room, complete with televisions and audiovisual amenities, seats 40 and accommodates 60 for standing receptions.

City Tap Dupont will serve lunch Monday through Friday from 11:30am to 5pm; dinner Sunday through Thursday from 5pm to 11pm, and a limited menu from 11pm until 1am on Friday and Saturday; and brunch from 11am to 3pm on Saturdays and Sundays.”

Potomac Harmony is Back! Following a gap year of competing, then virtual rehearsals during the pandemic, followed by the well-earned retirement of our long-term director, a year of a director search, Potomac Harmony hit the regional contest stage in Concord, North Carolina in March for the first time since 2018! It was exhilarating, reaffirming, and rewarding!

The chorus hit all of its goals, the biggest of which was to have fun and sing our best on contest stage — we did both! Because we earned a score over 400 points, our new Director, Allison Lynskey, was awarded the Novice Director award, photo above. Additionally, one of our charter members, Jackie Bottash, was nominated for and honored with the Leadership Excellence award. It was a celebratory weekend!

What’s next? So much! We now look forward to upcoming performances, growing our membership, and expanding our musical product with new arrangements and an education component each week. It’s an exciting time to be part of this ever-growing ensemble!
