“Toki Underground Hosts Pop-up with Astro Doughnuts & Fried Chicken” Sunday

“On Sunday, June 11, Toki Underground will partner with Astro Doughnuts & Fried Chicken to host a one-day-only collaboration pop-up at the H Street ramen shop. The restaurant, which is normally closed on Sundays, will open for the pop-up from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The special menu will feature collaborative dishes, like a black sesame glazed doughnut, scallion biscuits & tonkotsu with Kimchi cream cheese, and a Toki Monster doughnut, which is made with a bourbon and angostura glaze with cured and spiced bacon bits. The menu is available on a first come, first served basis while supplies last, and guests will have the option of enjoying in the restaurant or ordering for take-out. Full menu details with pricing can be seen below, and photos can be found here. The regular Toki Underground menu offerings will not be available during this time.

Additionally, Astro Doughnuts & Fried Chicken will also sell the Toki Monster doughnut for $4 each at the G Street location only in limited quantities on Sunday, June 11. Please let me know if you have any questions, and thanks for your time.

Potomac Harmony is Back! Following a gap year of competing, then virtual rehearsals during the pandemic, followed by the well-earned retirement of our long-term director, a year of a director search, Potomac Harmony hit the regional contest stage in Concord, North Carolina in March for the first time since 2018! It was exhilarating, reaffirming, and rewarding!

The chorus hit all of its goals, the biggest of which was to have fun and sing our best on contest stage — we did both! Because we earned a score over 400 points, our new Director, Allison Lynskey, was awarded the Novice Director award, photo above. Additionally, one of our charter members, Jackie Bottash, was nominated for and honored with the Leadership Excellence award. It was a celebratory weekend!

What’s next? So much! We now look forward to upcoming performances, growing our membership, and expanding our musical product with new arrangements and an education component each week. It’s an exciting time to be part of this ever-growing ensemble!
