Dear PoP – “help! 2010 census doesn’t know I exist”

IMG_3899

“Dear PoP,

With all the hubbub about the 2010 census, I want to be a good citizen and get my form in on time and be counted and whatnot. We in DC certainly need to stand up and be counted, even if it still doesn’t mean we will ever get a vote in congress or actually be REALLY counted like the other 300 million Americans, but I digress… Anyway, I keep hearing that forms should have been sent out in mid March and should be sent in by April 1, but I have yet to receive one. I just moved 2 months ago into a new building in Columbia Heights and I wonder if maybe as it is a new construction, the Census Bureau does not know about it yet. I checked the census website and could not find anything about what to do if you don’t get a form. I am sure there are more people like me in PoPville and we could all benefit if someone has an idea what we should do. Especially given the importance of the census.

I gather that when people fail to send in their forms, census takers will be sent out, so maybe new buildings will be caught in that process, but who knows. Also, I happened to (unfortunately) be at the DMV today, and they did have the forms there, so that is one option, but no one in their right mind is going to make a trip to the DMV just for that.

If you could post something to see if anyone knows how to let the census Bureau know that I exist, it would be greatly appreciated and probably help a lot of people. Thanks.”

Anyone have some suggestions?

For many remote workers, a messy home is distracting.

You’re getting pulled into meetings, and your unread emails keep ticking up. But you can’t focus because pet hair tumbleweeds keep floating across the floor, your desk has a fine layer of dust and you keep your video off in meetings so no one sees the chaos behind you.

It’s no secret a dirty home is distracting and even adds stress to your life. And who has the energy to clean after work? That’s why it’s smart to enlist the help of professionals, like Well-Paid Maids.
