After nearly five decades in Washington, DC, we’re preparing to say goodbye to our longtime home on 17th Street as we look ahead to a new chapter in Old Town Alexandria, VA. Our last day of service at our longtime home on 17th Street will be December 31, 2026.
Since Floriana Nestore founded the restaurant in 1979, Floriana has been built on the belief that hospitality should feel personal, like coming over to a friend’s for dinner. Over the years, we’ve had the privilege of becoming a gathering place for celebrations, first dates, anniversaries, Pride festivities, neighborhood traditions, and countless memories shared.
Every plate of handmade pasta, every bottle of wine, and every familiar face welcomed through our doors has been part of a story much bigger than a restaurant. Because of you, Floriana became woven into the fabric of Washington, DC.
Our decision to leave our historic home was not made lightly. To our loyal patrons, neighbors, friends, and everyone who has shared a meal with us along the way, we carry deep appreciation for the extraordinary memories, friendships, and support you’ve given us over the years. Thank you for making Floriana what it is today.”
