N Street between 10 and 11th NW

Every day I walk my dog I see new shattered car windows – and this happened to my car the same week the national guard started to patrol the city last year.
Here we are more than a year later and I still see the cops talking to people who’ve called 911 because they’re experiencing the very same thing on the same block. Just saw it again.
I’ve attached photos of fresh glass shards, and my car window’s shards from a year ago that are still living in the tree pit just steps away.
As well as the latest “tool” the person is using to break the glass with… there was a 2×4 sitting next to my car before and weeks after my car was broken into. There were several colors of glass shards in the pit when I parked there a year ago, but thought it wouldn’t happen to me. Again, same block, next to a church – and no video footage could be recovered even though there’s tons of ring-type cameras on the houses surrounding these break-ins.
Yes, we all have car insurance, but insurance does not cover the contents stolen from a vehicle. And we still have to pay the deductible. Haven’t had an issue on any other street in 5 years.
I just want neighbors around this specific block in our wonderful neighborhood to know this activity has been happening for more than a year now. It needs to be stopped.
Bonus photo (above) is one of several signs I just hung again on the street. When my car was smashed into last August, I posted similar signs and the parking spots stayed vacant until the signs were taken down after months of rain erased the words. I hope the signs work again, but something needs to be done.”
