Sad news from Cafe Two Nine:

“Hello, everyone. Tomorrow is my last day.

After 10 years of hard work, serious fun, and unforgettable mentorships, Two Nine company will be officially closing my Cafe on Saturday, August 1st. I apologize for the extremely last minute notice and I understand the shock or stress you may be feeling right now. To simply put it, the timing was out of my control no matter how ready I was to share the news. This is NOT THE END. I am still in love with the Hospitality/Food and Bev industry and this Sushi Cafe world I created with my team. All I can do now is start over with a light heart and continue to share these moments right here in DC

( I see you Philly folks trying to kidnap me, sorry!). Thank you all for the love and support you’ve given me throughout all my phases that were previously known as AMA AMI (Sweet Amy). It takes a lot to move me out of a space I helped build and I will put up a fight and get hurt a hundred times over before I decide something is not for me. Here’s to living and learning. If you still want to be here and accompany me while I win, lose, crash out, make 10000 mistakes, or start another business… I have snacks.

To my AM team, I say this like a broken record: thank you for being amazing, supportive, and consistent until the very end. You’ve known about this for months now so I hope when you read this, you feel happy for all of us ✨ We will have more fun when we see each other again! I love you all so much!

We are running our LAST cafe service tomorrow: same hours, same menu. I have a feeling it might be busy given the update… Please be patient and be kind to our staff! See you soon :-)

Art by me. Fuck Ai.”

Stay tuned.
