“This weekend will include several bus and rail changes due to the Juneteenth holiday on Friday, June 19, and the Capital Pride Parade on Saturday, June 20. Additionally, service changes for nearly 50 bus routes across D.C., Maryland, and Virginia will go into effect Sunday, June 21.
The previously scheduled track work for June 19-21 for the Crystal City second entrance construction has been cancelled since the planned work was completed early.
On Saturday,
for the Pride Paradeopens in a new tab, Metro customers can take the Green or Yellow lines to U Street or Archives, or the Orange, Silver, and Blue lines to McPherson Square, Metro Center, or Federal Triangle. Those stations provide the shortest walks to the 1.3-mile parade route along 14th Street NW.
Saturday’s Block Partyopens in a new tab on 17th Street NW between P and Q is most accessible from the Dupont Circle station on the Red Line. For Sunday’s Pride Festival and Concertopens in a new tab along Pennsylvania Avenue NW, Metro customers can take the Red Line to Judiciary Square or the Green and Yellow lines to Archives.
Customers should expect larger crowds at stations serving Pride events throughout the weekend.
Metro Rail
Hours: Normal hours on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
Service: Metro Rail will run on weekend frequencies on Friday due to the Juneteenth holiday. Normal weekend frequencies on Saturday and Sunday with no track work.
Fares: Weekday fares will be in effect on Friday, with $2.25 – $2.50 late-night fares after 9:30 p.m. and on Saturday and Sunday.
Parking: Free at all Metro-owned garages and lots on holidays and weekends.
Metro Bus
Service: On Friday, June 19, Metro Bus will operate on a Saturday Supplemental schedule. Schedules vary by route, check route pages for specific schedules.
On Saturday, several bus routes will be on detour due to the Pride Parade along 14th Street from T Street to Pennsylvania Avenue.
On Sunday, new Metro Bus service changes will go into effect on nearly 50 bus routes.
