“Tenley Provisions, a new neighborhood eatery at 4700 Wisconsin Ave NW, is opening in the heart of Tenleytown on Wednesday, June 24th, stepping into the previous Steak ‘n Egg space. The eatery brings together three culinary concepts under one roof: Sofie’s, a fast-casual café serving fresh crêpes and all-day breakfast favorites; Bistro Metzger, a chef-driven experience with a globally inspired menu; and El Jefe Woodfired Pizza, a neighborhood pizzeria dedicated to handcrafted pies.
Tenley Provisions is the kind of place that earns a spot on everyone’s regular rotation—and
earns the drive from Friendship Heights, Georgetown, or Woodley Park. Post-soccer parents can walk in with a troupe full of kids and be seated in minutes, while adults looking for a proper night out can settle in with a thoughtfully curated bottle of wine and a meal that rivals any sit-down restaurant in the city. The beauty of it: both can happen at the same table. Kids can go straight for a wood-fired El Jefe pizza while the adults order their way through Bistro Metzger’s globally inspired menu. Nearly everything is made from scratch, to an artisan, fine-dining standard—at a price point that makes it easy to come back again and again.
And for those nights when home calls, nearly everything on the menu is available for takeout, made with the same artisan, fine-dining-caliber craft you’d expect from a chef’s kitchen.

Sofie’s | Daily, 8 am – 3 pm
Located in the heart of Tenleytown, Sofie’s is a welcoming fast-casual café serving freshly made crêpes, classic breakfast favorites, and all-day comfort food—from hash brown bowls, pancakes, eggs and bacon and breakfast burritos to sweet and savory crêpes. Sofie’s is the perfect destination for a leisurely brunch with mimosas, a casual breakfast meeting, or an everyday meal.
Bistro Metzger | Tuesday – Sunday, 4:30 pm – 9 pm
Bistro Metzger is the passion project of Chef Colin Graham, a Wolfgang Puck alumnus, bringing together the flavors, techniques, and comfort foods he loves from around the world under one roof. Named after the German word for “butcher,” the restaurant embraces a chef-driven approach to classic dishes—from fish and chips and bánh mì to French onion soup, Caesar salad, and chicken served in a pho-inspired broth. Rooted in the craftsmanship Graham learned under the renowned Wolfgang Puck, and curiosity fu Lee by his international upbringing, Bistro Metzger is a welcoming destination where familiar favorites are reimagined through a global lens.
El Jefe Woodfired Pizza | Tuesday – Sunday, 11 am – 9 pm
El Jefe is a neighborhood pizzeria serving thoughtfully crafted, wood-fired pizzas (and soon pastas!) rooted in classic tradition and built around fresh ingredients, bold flavors, and simplicity. The dough for the pizza is made in house from scratch. Born from a farmer’s market stand and grown through catering across Montgomery County and DC.
