Metro Market has been in the ground floor of the Westpark apartments at 22nd and P for over 40 years but is closing because
the new building owners would not renew their lease (per the son of the owners). This after the closing of the independent SoHo Coffee (other end of the building) in favor of a chain that you covered. Their half-off sale is on now and the shelves are emptying fast. He told someone they’d be open on Saturday, but I can’t imagine much if anything will be left on the shelves by then.”
