We have a simple straightforward return with normal income and deductions. Our CPA e-filed both our federal and DC tax returns on the same date of March 5, 2024.
The IRS processed our federal return in 11 days and paid the refund two days later.
The “Check the Status of My Refund” on the DC website says,
only that our return has been received and is being processed & that could take up to 8 weeks.
This is annoying as hell as the whole purposed of getting the return in very early was to get it back quickly.
It’s as if the DC Tax Office ion its dawdling is just begging for DOGE to come in and take them over. You’d think that would want to appear and be efficient in the current atmosphere!”
