I wanted to share this incident with a potential scammer posing as a Verizon worker. Monday night in my apartment complex in Woodley Park, a man claiming to be from Verizon was knocking on people’s doors. He claimed that management had let him in after hours. He wore a black polo shirt, but with no indication that he was with Verizon.
Someone called the non-emergency police number. He could not provide police with an ID from Verizon,
claimed he left in his car and that all he had to verify was his iPad. They didn’t arrest him but asked him to leave the premises. Management said they didn’t let him in. Residents who provided him any account or credit card info are advised to check for suspicious activity on accounts.”
