“The Capital Area Food Bank is holding pop-up food distributions for former federal workers and contractors affected by the recent reductions. Starting tomorrow, these distributions will be held twice a week through June: Thursdays from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., or while supplies last each day.
Affected federal employees and contractors can pick up food boxes filled with shelf-stable groceries and fresh produce. They will be asked for information about how they have been impacted by recent reductions, either by providing documentation (such as an ID badge, termination letter, notice of reduced hours, etc.) or answering a few questions from our staffers.
