“Clap-out for fired U.S. Department of Education employees” this Friday

“Dear PoPville,

Please join us at the U.S. Department of Education on Friday, March 28, 2025, from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. to show support for the career employees as they arrive in 30-minute windows to collect their belongings from the building. (NOTE: We need the strongest turnout from 10:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.)

We will not have a formal speaking program, but

former employees of the Department, teachers, students, parents, and other supporters are welcome to grab the mic to speak during this time. This is a moment to not only celebrate the public servants who have been fired from the Education Department, but it’s also a chance to show the devastating impact that dismantling ED is having on students, schools, families, and communities.

Destroying the U.S. Education Department will rip away critical funding, leaving schools without the resources they need to keep classrooms open, provide student support, and pay teachers and support staff. Millions of students — particularly those in underfunded communities — will lose access to the education resources that help them thrive. See specific data on how states and communities will be impacted here.
